HSL Mobile has now launched a new
smartphone dubbed the Y501 in India. The USP of the recent smartphone lies in
the way that the HSL Y501 touts a so called 'HammerScreen'.
According to the HSL Mobile the Hammer
Screen protects the display of the smartphone from various forms of damage,
thereby offering a super impact protection. HSL however doesn't detail much on
how they are achieving this so called HammerScreen.
Director of HSL Mobiles Naresh Yadav are
very happy to introduce Y501 Plus in India which is specifically designed and
developed keeping Indian consumers' need for vernacular languages solution and
a tougher screen at the centre.
Apparently it seems that HSL has included a
more than one layer of Gorilla Glass protection to achieve this super impact
protection. In fact a few Chinese smartphone brands like Oukitel, UMi has done
so in the past, and that too rather successfully.
Coming to the specs, the HSL Y501 sports a
1.2GHz quad core Mediatek SoC with 1GB RAM and 8GB of on-board storage. This is
further expandable via MicroSD card slot upto 32GB. In terms of camera the HSL
Y501 features a 5MP rear and 2MP front facing camera. Besides that the
smartphone is powered by a 2000mAh battery which according to the company can
deliver 10 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time.
