Panasonic Eluga Turbo with 5-inch HD display, 13MP camera and 4G LTE launched for Rs. 10,999



Panasonic launched its latest smartphone in the Eluga group - The Panasonic Eluga Turbo. The Panasonic Eluga Turbo has a 5-inch HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. The Panasonic Eluga Turbo has a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash with 1080p video recording. It has a 5MP front-covering camera. The smartphone has a 3.5 mm audio jack and comes with FM Radio.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core 64-bit processor. It has a 3GB RAM with 32GB inward memory with an expandable memory with MicroSD. The Panasonic Eluga Turbo runs a Android 5.1 Lollipop. The Dual SIM card has connectivity options that include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The smartphone is backed by a 2350mAh battery.

The Panasonic Eluga Turbo is available in a Blue color variant and is valued at Rs. 10,999.The phone is available exclusively on Snapdeal. Phone can be currently purchased only via registration. Panasonic and Snapdeal are yet to give any details regarding when the phone will go for sale while registrations are open to prospective buyers.

OnePlus One OxygenOS 2.1.4 update brings new camera modes



OnePlus One just received the OxygenOS 2.1.4 update. The OnePlus is An Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based phone. The new Oxygen OS 2.1.4 update wll bring new camera support that includes slow motion and clear picture, new ringtones and a lot more.

The new update does not carry certain features that were to be a part of the final update. Some features like the MaxxAudio propreitery sound technology along with relevant applications, screen temperature slider, manual camera mode, RAW file format capability among others did not make it to the final edit of the update as they were dropped in at last.

The new OnePlus One OxygenOS 2.1.4 includes an upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.1.1. It includes a OnePlus launcher with Shelf. The new update will bring a OnePlus Camera that includes support for Clear image, Slow motion video,Time-lapse video, Beauty mode filter,Dark mode and LED customisation.

The new Oxygen OS 2.1.4 update wll bring new camera support that includes slow motion and clear image, new ringtones and a lot more.The new update does not carry certain features that were to be a part of the final update.

Motorola will soon rollout Marshmallow update for Moto G 2nd Gen



Motorola rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto X Style in India in November 2015. The Moto X Play got the update earlier this month soon after which an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto G 3rd Gen followed.

Motorola has now launched Android 6.0 update discharge notes for the Moto G 2nd Gen on Motorola India support site. We can soon expect to see a roll out for Motorola 2nd Gen handsets soon. The Motorola Mot G 2nd Gen got the Android 5.0 Lollipop update back in January last year 2015in India. There were other patches for the phone last year to fix a some security patches in September 2015.

 However, the Motorola gave its Moto G 2nd Gen a miss to the Android 5.1 Lollipop update.Now, the Smartphone will directly get the Android 6.0 update. The Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) has a 5-inch HD screen, front-facing speakers, 8MP rear camera.


It has a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB RAM. It also has an expandable memory compared to its predecessor, the Moto G (Gen 1) which has only has inbuilt storage. It is backed by a 2,070mAh battery and regular connectivity options. Marshmallow update for the Moto G 2nd Gen will roll out in phases.

Lenovo K4 Note will go on Flash sale tomorrow on Amazon India



Lenovo received close to half a million registrations for the  glimmer offer of the Lenovo K4 Note VR bundle. The company sold 10,000 units of the Lenovo K4 Note VR Bundle on the day one of its Flash deal on Amazon India.

 Lenovo will hold a flash sale tomorrow for its Lenovo K4 Note smartphones.It will be sold separately without the VR headset. Tomorrow there will be 50,000 units of the Lenovo K4 Note up for sale at 2.00 PM on Amazon India.

The Lenovo K4 Note has a 5.5 FHD wide-view display with Twin Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. It is  controlled  by TheaterMax technology with Virtual Giant Cinematic Experience. It also has Twin Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. The smartphone has a 64-Bit Octa Core MediaTek MT 6753 processor. The smartphone has an internal memory of 16GB with 3GB RAM.The internal storage is expandable to 128 GB via microSD.


The smartphone comes with a Fingerprint sensor and gesture support. The Lenovo K4 Note has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone has a 3300mAh battery to keep it running throughout the day. The Smartphone has support for 4G LTE with Dual SIM. It runs Anroid 5.1 Lollipop. It also comes inbuilt with Lenovo apps.

DataWind launches PocketSurfer 2G4X, PocketSurfer 3G4Z smartphones starting at Rs 2,499




DataWind the makers of low cost Aakash tablets has expanded the  arrangement of its products with the launch of PocketSurfer 2G4X and PocketSurfer 3G4Z smartphones. The PocketSurfer 2G4X is valuated priced at Rs 2,499 and PocketSurfer 3G4Z for priced at Rs 3,999. The new smartphones from Datawind additionally come with unlimited internet browsing for the period of one year for Reliance and Telenor pre-paid subscribers.

DatawWind PocketSurfer 2G4X features a 3.5-inch display with 320x480 pixels resolution and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The device is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A5 processor paired with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM further expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. BlackBerry Priv Android Smartphone will launch in India on January 28



BlackBerry is all set to launch its first ever Android smartphone in India. BlackBerry has sent out media invites for the launch that will take place on January 28th 2016 in New Delhi.

BlackBerry Priv was initially was available for Pre-orders in October when the phone was reported by the company in 2015. The BlackBerry Priv Secure Smartphone initially went for sale only in the US and Canada in November 2015 before it would be available in other regions. The BlackBerry Priv was priced at $699 in the US, which is roughly about INR 48000. We can expect the BlackBerry to bring about the smartphone to the country at around the same price with some additional taxes when it comes to India.

The BlackBerry Priv has a 5.4" QHD with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels AMOLED display and a pixel density of 540ppi. The smartphone can also support glove mode. The BlackBerry Priv has an 18MP rear camera with OIS, PDAF and double-LED flash and 4K video recording. It has a 2MP front-camera is also on board, and offers HD video recording. The BlackBerry Priv is backed by a massive 3410mAh battery that is said to deliver up to 22.5 hours based on 'mixed usage'.

ZTE announces Nubia Prague S with 5.2-inch display, 3GB RAM and Iris scanner



ZTE declared its latest smartphone in the Nubia series in China. The Nubia Prague S was declared  in China. It has a 5.2-inch Full HD OGS Super AMOLED display with 2.5D arc glass. It has 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 8MP front-facing camera with 78-degree wide-angle lens and Neo Vision 5.2 Camera UI. The smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 with nubia UI 3.0.

The ZTE Nubia Prague S has a 6.8mm slim anodized aluminium frame, FiT or Frame Interactive Technology for comfortable one-handed utilization and Eyeprint ID iris scanner for secure locking.This lends the phone an additional layer of security.

When it comes to audio, the Nubia Prague S has something special - it has a AKM4375 Hi-fi audio clip, a 7.1 audio and a Dolby decoder for enhanced audio experience. The smartphone has a dimension of 148.2 x 72.5 x 6.8mm and Weighs 135 grams.

While there is no word on global availability, though the smart phone can be expected in other regions after a few weeks from the Chinese dispatch.

Intex Aqua Air II With 5-Inch Display launched at Rs. 4,690



Intex has launched its entrance -level smartphone called the Aqua Air II smartphone. The smartphone is not yet launched in the market though it is available through the company website.

The smartphone has a 5-inch FWVGA TFT display with 480x854 pixels and also sports a Corning Gorilla Glass for protection from scratches. The Intex Aqua Air II is powered by a Dual-core MediaTek MT6572W processor with 1.2GHz Processor and 1GB of RAM.

The latest Intex smartphone sports a 2MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It bears an 8 GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. Aqua Air II is a Dual-SIM smartphone that runs Android 4.4 KitKat.


The phones connectivity options Added 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB and GPS. The smartphone is backed by a 2300 mah battery that can give up to 4 hours of talk time on 3G and 6 hours talk time on 2G network. The Intex will be available in Grey color variant for a cost  of Rs. 4,690.

Vertu launches Signature Touch Android smartphone with Bentley logo



Vertu is known for its scope of Luxury Phones has come out with an Android smartphone. This time, the Vertu smartphone has an exclusive Bentley logo on its phone. A 3D logo of Bentley is on the back of the Vertu Phone. The Vertu has the reputation of making phones that are characteristically out of the reach of ordinary people. The Vertu Signature Touch too falls in the same category.

The Signature Touch is a Android powered smartphone. The Vertu Signature Touch has a 5.2" display covered by sapphire display with a pixel density of 428 ppi. It has a 21 MP rear camera and a 2.1 MP camera on the front. The Signature Touch for Bentley is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The Signature Touch for Bentley is the result of five-year partnership that the luxury automaker has with the luxury smartphone company. The specifications seem low given the price tag. The Vertu smartphone is made in England and not China. The Luxury Bentley edition smartphone is wrapped in "two-tone Beluga and Hotspur Bentley leather with Hotspur Stitching". The smartphone comes pre-loaded with a Bentley app that provides exclusive content and access to VIP events. The Smartphone can be integrated with Bentley cars through the app and seems a must have for a Bentley owner.


The cheapest Signature Touch is plain leather costs $9,000 roughly 6 lakhs and can cost as high as $19,000 around 12.5 lakhs. The appearance fo the phone can be customised with a choice of eight leather colors and 16 stitching options. The phone is exclusively made for Bentley owners. The smartphone is a luxury good and not a oridinary smartphone.

Lenovo has recently launched their latest budgeted smartphone, the Lenovo Lemon 3 in China.The Lenovo Lemon 3 has a 5 inch Full HD display. It additionally has a Lemon 3 will have a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP camera for Selfie. The Lenovo Lemon 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC chipset, powered by 2 GB RAM, 16 GB on inbuilt storage expandable via micro SD.

The Lenovo Lemon 3 has a 2,750 mAh battery. Connectivity options include a 4G LTE connectivity,  double SIM support and has regular connectivity options like Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. The smartphone has 12 hours of audio playback and 6.2 hours of video playback.


The Lenovo Lemon 3 has gone for sale in China for RMB 699 approximately Rs. 7,000. The availability fo the Lenovo Lemon 3 outside China is not yet known. There is no official declaration on a global launch.

Idea launches high-speed 4G LTE services in three more Telecom circles



Idea Cellular declared the launch of its 4G LTE services  crosswise over four more states in India inclusive of three Telecom Circles -Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh,  and Punjab. With this launch, the company has expanded its 4G LTE service footprint to 7 telecom service areas, including the 4 telecom circles of South India, namely Karnataka & Kerala Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, which were launched on 23rd December 2015. Idea's 4G LTE services will be available across 183 towns in these 7 telecom service areas by 31st January this year 2016.

ZTE announces Blade D Lux with 5.5-inch display, 2GB RAM and 3000mAh



ZTE has presented its Blade D Lux, the new smartphone that is piece of the company's Blade series. However, the smartphones will go for sale only in Vietnam and Singapore.The ZTE Blade D Lux has a 5.5 inch IPS display with 2.5D curved glass display. The Blade D Lux additionally has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash. It additionally has a 8 Mp front-facing camera with LED flash.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 64 GB with micro SD. The smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The ZTE Blade has a double SIM support. The connectivity options on the smartphone include 4 G  / 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The smartphone is backed by a 3000 mAh battery.


The ZTE Blade D Lux comes in White shading  and is priced at $ 173 approx Rs 11570 for India. The ZTE Blade D Lux is currently on sale in Vietnam and Singapore. We can soon expect a global roll out of the phone and an India launch should also be on the cards.

Lenovo, Google announce Project Tango smartphone at CES 2016



Google’s Project Tango was first declared two years ago and has been in the exploratory stage since. But on 7th January at CES, Lenovo announced that it will release the first consumer smartphone with Google’s Project Tango hardware and software inside it, by June-July 2016 in this year.
Project Tango lets you map the 3D space around you by using a combination of cameras such as a regular camera, an integrated depth sensing camera and a motion tracking camera. The 3D space mapping is done in real time and can help out with navigating within shopping malls and other internal locations.
 The Smartphone which will be released by Lenovo will be a consumer facing device and will come under $500 approx Price is Rs 33,400. The device is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and will have a display size under 6.5-inches. Lenovo will be using a fish eye lens on its Project Tango phone – which will be arranged in a vertical module.
Before the declaration Project Tango lead Johnny Lee showed some demos of what can be done with this project. He used the camera module on the prototype Project Tango tablet to measure the area of a room. He additionally demoed real time 3D mapping of not just fixed objects but the crowds as well. After having 3D mapped the stage, he showed how you can virtually fit furniture into the space.

The earlier smart phone announced by Google back in 2014, was an Android-based prototype 5 inch phone and developer kit with advanced 3D sensors. With the sensors, the phone is capable of tracking motion, and can build a visual map of rooms utilizing 3D scanning. 

Gionee Marathon M5 Lite with Metal Body, 4000mAH battery launched in India at Rs 12,999



Gionee has now launched the Marathon M5 Lite, the organization's latest addition to the Marathon series of smartphone in India. The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite is estimated priced at Rs 12,999 and comes in Gold and Grey shading variants. It will soon be available via offline stores and Gionee's official online store. For those unaware there is a bigger brother of the M5 Lite, dubbed the Marathon M5 which retails in India via Flipkart at Rs 17,999.

Polaroid launches Power and Snap 4G smartphones




Polaroid, a brand that is famous for its camera products has launched tow new Android Smartphones at the CES 2016. Polaroid launched Snap and Power smart cell phones.

The Polaroid Snap is available in three sizes - first 5-inch, second 5.5-inch and the third 6-inch screen sizes with HD IPS display. The smartphone has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. The Snap has a 13 MP rear camera with double LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing camera with LED flash.

The smartphones keep running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The Snap is powered by a Quad-core processor. The snap is available in two variants of 1 GB Ram with 8 GB internal storage while the other one has a 2 GB ram with 16 GB storage capacity. The gadgets have a 32 GB of micro SD. Connectivity options include 4G LTE with Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The Polaroid Snap will come in blue, black, pink and white colors.

 The Polaroid Power has a 6 inch Full HD IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The Smartphone has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 8 MP camera on the front with LED flash. The smartphone is backed by a 3000 mAh battery. The Polaroid Power has an Octa-Core 64-bit processor. It also has 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage capacity. It has an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Connectivity options include a 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The Polaroid Power is available in platinum color shading.


Huawei Teases to launch Honor 5X in India on 28th January 2016


Huawei's sub brand Honor is all set to launch a new gadget in India on 28th January 2016, for which it rolled out teaser invites to Indian media. The company has not given out details of the gadget lined up for dispatch at this event, however We has gathered that Honor will finally be presenting its much-awaited Honor 5X smartphone in India.

Honor 5X is the company's mid-range smartphone offering that was unveiled in last year 2015. Its highlight is its metal outline that resembles the design of Huawei's current worldwide flagship, the Honor 7 smartphone. The smartphone comes in a diamond-polished aluminum alloy casing to have a premium look and feel. While it design has premium components, Honor has made changes in the equipment features of the smartphone to make it more affordable for purchasers.

Similarly as its specs are concerned, the Honor 5X is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor Similarly with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage capacity. It includes a 5.5 inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and runs on Android's 5.1 Lollipop iteration topped with Huawei's EMUI 3.1 programming. In the camera division, the Honor 5X sports a 13MP rear shooter with Huawei's SmartImage 3.0 processor for better photography in dim light. Honor is yet to officially declare the name of the upcoming device, but we are sure about the launch of the Honor 5X smartphone in India on the said date. Also, considering that the company is appearing in the US with the Honor 5X smartphone on January 31, the launch of the device on January 28 in India bodes well.

Lenovo's Vibe S1 Lite Edition Comes with 8MP Selfie Snapper instead of Dual Front Camera


Ahead of CES 2016, the China-based handset producer Lenovo has reported the lighter version of selfie-centric smartphone dubbed as Vibe S1 Lite. At first, the company has unveiled the Vibe S1 with double front cameras back at IFA 2015 in September. On the other hand, the Vibe S1 Lite doesn't come with the double front camera, it is employed with 8MP camera with Sony sensor and soft LED flash to avoid low light issues. 

Moving on to the specifications, this Vibe S1 Lite flaunts a 5 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The hardware department is fitted with Octa-Core MediaTek MT 6753 processor clocking at 1.3GHz along with Mali-T720 GPU under the board. On the capacity division, this lighter version comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM with an expandable option by means of microSD card slot. This selfie-centric camera comes dispatched with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box along with Hybrid double SIM slots.

Going to the imaging department, the so-called Vibe S1 Lite sports a 13MP rear camera with double -tone LED Flash, 8MP front camera with Sony sensor, LED flash. It measures 8.55 mm thickness and weighs around 129 grams. Further, the connectivity options include 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, FM Radio. The above equipment is powered by a 2700 mAh battery under the board. The Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite comes in Matte White & Blue variations and will be available at a price of $199 approx Rs. 13250 from early 2016.
