BlackBerry Priv Android Smartphone will launch in India on January 28



BlackBerry is all set to launch its first ever Android smartphone in India. BlackBerry has sent out media invites for the launch that will take place on January 28th 2016 in New Delhi.

BlackBerry Priv was initially was available for Pre-orders in October when the phone was reported by the company in 2015. The BlackBerry Priv Secure Smartphone initially went for sale only in the US and Canada in November 2015 before it would be available in other regions. The BlackBerry Priv was priced at $699 in the US, which is roughly about INR 48000. We can expect the BlackBerry to bring about the smartphone to the country at around the same price with some additional taxes when it comes to India.

The BlackBerry Priv has a 5.4" QHD with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels AMOLED display and a pixel density of 540ppi. The smartphone can also support glove mode. The BlackBerry Priv has an 18MP rear camera with OIS, PDAF and double-LED flash and 4K video recording. It has a 2MP front-camera is also on board, and offers HD video recording. The BlackBerry Priv is backed by a massive 3410mAh battery that is said to deliver up to 22.5 hours based on 'mixed usage'.


The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexacore processor with 1.8GHz  double-core Cortex-A57, and a 1.44GHz quad-core Cortex-A53. It has a 3GB of RAM and a Adreno 418 GPU. The BlackBerry Priv comes with 32GB of internal Storage. It bears a slot for memory expansion up to 2GB. On the connectivity front, BlackBerry Priv support 4G LTE with support for Indian Bands. It also has other regular connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Direct functionality, Bluetooth 4.1, 3.5mm audio Jack, micro-USB, NFC, and GPS/ A - GPS. It also has an accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, time fo flight (ToF) sensor, Proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, altimeter and activity monitor.
